My name is Dave Waring and I am the Founder of the DigitalBrainBase community.

I started this community for the following reasons:

1. I want to own my digital brain.

I think about my digital brain just like I do my physical brain.

I don’t want a company to own the data, knowledge and intelligence of my physical brain.

And I don’t want a company to own my digital data, knowledge and intelligence either.

2. I want others to own their digital brains too.

I believe whoever owns and controls the data, knowledge, and AI algorithms that leverage it will control the world.

And I want that to be individuals, not a small set of large companies.

This will result in:

• More individual freedom.
• A more diverse set of knowledge and ideas, that will result in more progress.
• More wealth, including more wealth for the average individual

3. I want to work on something important, and that I am passionate about

I want to wake up in the morning excited to get to work.

That means working on something that I believe is important to the world, and that I am passionate about.

And I want to do this with people who share the same passion.

4. I want to make money.

I view this like the internet itself.

The code and protocols for Digital Brains should be free and open, just like those of the internet.

This open platform will create many money-making opportunities, just like the internet.

This time, the key is to ensure power is centered with individuals, not a few large companies.

My Background

I grew up in a small town in North Carolina USA and moved to Manhattan after graduating from college.

I now live in New Jersey USA with my wife and two children.

I worked at internet companies in the finance space for the first 10 years of my career.

In the second 10 years I worked at Marc Waring Ventures, a company that I co-Founded.

Marc Waring Ventures published websites that provided advice to small business owners.

My co-founder and I sold that company in 2022.

After that I took some time to consider what I wanted to work on next.

Joining the open source community by founding the DigitalBrainBase community is what I am most excited about.

And I look forward to working with others who are passionate about the same.
