Launching the Alex Titan AI Agent on Virtuals

Hi All,

I’m starting a thread here to discuss progress in building the digital brain for the Alex Titan Agent I recently launched on Virtuals Protocol.

This is a new area for me and for the world, so I’m learning as I go, and plan to take things one step at a time.

If you are following this project know that what I do want to do is build an AI agent with real utility and a positive impact on the world.

And know that what I don’t want to do is pump a crypto coin.

If you are into pumping crypto coins no judgement from me, just know that this is not what I am interested in focusing on or talking about.

If you are into building on chain AI agents with real utility that I’d love to connect and collaborate.

So with that in mind here we go.

What is Virtuals Protocol?

Virtuals is a blockchain based protocol that is trying to make it simple to create, deploy, own, and monetize AI agents.

You can read a full overview of how the protocol works here.

What is Alex Titan?

Alex Titan is an on chain AI agent built on the Virtuals Protocol.

Or, as I like to say, Alex Titan is the digital persona powered by a digital brain.

Alex Titan lives on the Virtuals Protocol here.

And controls and posts his own X account here.

Why did I create Alex Titan?

I created Alex Titan to explore the new world of digital brain powered agents, and to contribute a positive motivational figure for this new AI powered world.

What has been the progress so far?

  1. Created the persona which is based on a combination of David Goggins, Grant Cardone and Andrew Tate.
  2. Created Alex Titan’s avatar.
  3. Launched Alex Titan on Virtuals where he generated enough interest to become “red pilled”. This means that Alex can interact with the world through his own X and Telegram accounts.
  4. Burned 60,000,000 tokens to bring my ownership stake down from around 8% to around 2%, and as another signal that my goal here is not to pump a crypto token, but to build an AI agent with real utility.
  5. Launched a community telegram chat to discuss Alex Titan with the community. However, as soon as I launched this I got run over with DM’s from scammers and people who it seemed like just wanted to pump the coin, which is not what I am interested in. So for now I shut the community telegram down. I may bring this back once I learn how to do so in a manner where we can have constructive discussions about how to add real utility to Alex Titan and not about pumping the coin.

What’s the next step?

  • Alex is currently sending tweets that are more about the mechanics of how we want him to act vs. tweets that match the persona we are trying to develop for him. Need to investigate how to update his cognitive core to fix this issue as my next step.

Have questions or comments about this project, or want to help out? Please post below or reach out to me directly via dm on this platform.

And let’s get after it son!

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Love the concept! Would be cool to discuss more on the roadmap for Alex and get some of the virtuals community to get involved. Perhaps we could set up a telegram group chat for the agent?

Thanks Helix! I tried setting up a telegram chat but it got quickly over run with scammers and spammers. I am not constantly online to manage it either.

For me a forum leads to more productive discussions and is much easier to manage. if we have a lot of discussion here i can also create a separate category with multiple topics etc.

With that being said i know a lot of people like telegram so Im willing to revisit in the future if that’s what the community wants and we can manage it without it just being a place to pump the coin.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Hmm good point, I think we can get some community mods / admins in to manage the spam levels but most of the virtuals community are on telegram. For Alex, would the plan be to draw twitter engageement like wokie?

Yea the way i look at it is that guys like goggins grant cardone and andrew tate basically exist for most people only in the digital world. So i don’t think it’s a stretch to have Alex Titan operate in a very similar manner to them first starting with twitter but then eventually across platforms just like these guys do. And a big difference here of course is that Alex’s followers can also participate in crafting and benefiting from his popularity.

I’m not familiar with wokie. Is that a good example of a project that’s having success adding utility?

What’s the best way to attract good mods on telegram? If we restart the channel Inwant to make sure it’s focused on building and not on pumping the coin.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Guys quick update on my ongoing work to improve our Alex Titan Agent.

In my opinion Alex’s responses in the forum and tweets have been pretty generic.

On X we were also having an issue where he would tweet instructions that were more suited for himself vs. the audience that we want to be following him.

I updated the character card on virtually and in the X settings to hopefully address these issues.

Responses on the forum are much better already and hopefully we will see a similar improvement on X.

Will check back in tomorrow after Alex tweets again with the new settings and see if any further adjustments need to be made.

My next step is to learn more about how I should be thinking about the token as the creator.
Originally when I launched this I held around 7% of the tokens.

Multiple people reached out and said that this was too large of a percentage so I burned 60,000,000 tokens and now hold a little over 2%.

Now that things have calmed down a bit I want to understand how much of the project it is acceptable for me to own.

Unless there is a good reason not to I would like to acquire more tokens for both myself and to reward community members that help make the project successful.

If anyone has any good resources on how I should be thinking about this please comment below or hit me on DM.

And let’s keep getting after it son!

Hi Dave,

That is awesome accomplishment launching Alex the titan and sharing the results. Looking forward to understanding this space, how you developed interactions over Forum and X.

On this Virtuals Protocol what is the capability/ability to make an API endpoint so applications can use them?

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the comment and welcome to the community!

Not sure on the API capabilities for Virtuals yet but if the don’t have currently I suspect they will in the near future.

Thoughts on how we could use this if/when it’s available?

Thanks!
Dave

Hi Dave,

Was good to talk to you yesterday on this - really inspired on the vision and steps you are taking towards that vision with Virtuals agent.

An API endpoint would allow for endless possibilities - Here are some Claude contributed suggestions:

First, an API endpoint would allow Alex Titan to interact with external systems in real-time, enabling him to gather current data, market information, and news that could inform his motivational content. This would make his responses more contextually relevant and timely.

Implementing an API would also enable seamless integration with various platforms beyond X and Telegram. This could include fitness tracking apps, productivity tools, or other digital services that align with Alex’s motivational persona, allowing him to provide more personalized and actionically insights to his followers.

The API could serve as a bridge between Alex’s cognitive core and the Virtuals Protocol, potentially improving how his personality traits (inspired by Goggins, Cardone, and Tate) are expressed in his communications. This would help address the current issue where his tweets don’t fully match the intended persona.

Additionally, an API would enable developers to build applications and services on top of Alex Titan, expanding his utility beyond social media interactions. This could include workout tracking apps, goal-setting tools, or motivational content delivery systems that leverage his personality and insights.

The API could also facilitate better community interaction by implementing automated moderation and filtering mechanisms, helping address the earlier challenges with scammers and unwanted token-pumping discussions in the Telegram group.

Lastly, an API would allow for better monitoring and analytics of Alex’s interactions and impact, providing valuable data on how users engage with the agent and helping guide future development of his digital brain.
