Hi everyone,
I’m exploring ways to keep OpenWebUI’s knowledge management in sync with local folders, particularly with tools like Obsidian where content is constantly changing (minor changes in the folders).
Researching I came across an OpenWebUI feature that got removed and posted here: (Add/sync remote folder to knowledge base · open-webui/open-webui · Discussion #7933 · GitHub) around restoring/improving folder sync capabilities.
The old Scan button feature was removed, and I’m curious how others are handling this gap. Specifically:
- Has anyone found effective ways to keep their Obsidian vaults (on any other evolving local folders) reflected in OpenWebUI’s knowledge base?
- What tools or workflows are you using for incremental updates to your vector store?
- How are you handling deleted or modified files in your knowledge base?
My use case involves maintaining a single source of truth between my notes and what’s available to the LLM, without manual re-uploading of files. I imagine others have similar needs with documentation, research papers, or other evolving content.
Would love to hear how others have solved this type of problem in DBB community.
Thanks!
